Over £2,000 donated by Beer Festival

The Institute Committee were delighted to receive a donation of over £2,000 from the Adderbury Beer Festival Committee after their successful two day event in September 2007.   This money will be used on internal refurbishments.   It is hoped the Beer Festival will become an annual event.

The Institute Committee wish to express their gratitude to the benefactors who have made very generous donations to the restoration fund raising appeal, whilst wishing to remain anonymous.  

Cherwell District Council support

Cherwell District Council have agreed a matched funding grant to Adderbury Institute whereby they will cover half of the Institute renovation costs, subject to the Institute Committee raising funds for the other half.   This scheme has made a considerable difference to projects ability to be completed.

Adderbury Parish Council donates £3,650

Adderbury Parish Council have donated £3,650 towards Institute Renovation funds through their various grant schemes.   The Insttitute Committee are extremely grateful for the Parish Council's support.

£500 raised by the Bell Folk Club!

The Bell Folk Club held a sell-out concert on December 2nd, 2006 and raised £500!   The Hall was packed to the rafters for the concert put on by the regulars of The Bell Folk Club. John Richards, who had the original idea, said, "We tried to make it a night for everyone; there was folk, blues, country and rock. We had 14 acts to squeeze into a very tight schedule."

One attendee said, "What a fabulous evening of music and song. It's hard to believe that a little village such as ours has so much talent on offer".

One of the main organisers was David McCormack.   He said, "We wouldn't have been able to do this without so many people coming forward to help put on the show - too many to mention, but they know who they are and I hope they know how much we appreciate their support. We are definitely going to make this an annual fixture for the Adderbury calendar".
